Üçel Maritime & Trade Co. Inc is established in 1983 by Abbas Kolçalar. Initially, the company provided service in ship repairs. In time, it started a new career in scrapping in late 90's. With the collapse of the Soviet Regime in Russia and other ex-communist countries, the company found the opportunity to gain access to many different types of vessels, including dredgers and split barges for scrapping. But later, seeing the market need for such vessels after the privatization of ports in Turkey, the company became one of the first sea contractors in Turkey, taking part in the construction of many maritime civil projects such as the constructio of Tekirdağ AKPORT, AKSAZ Naval Port, PENDİK Naval Port, AMBARLI Port etc. The company is also the first contractor that facilitated the use of caisson blocks in Turkey. Today, the company produces it's own vessels and it's service area includes ship repairs, salvage, maritime constructions and project load transfers.
